INFO

EartH (Evolutionary Arts Hackney) is a renowned nightclub, music venue, and multi-arts space situated in Dalston, East London, United Kingdom. Housed within a restored 1930s Art Deco cinema, formerly known as the Savoy Cinema and later the ABC in the 1970s and 1980s, EartH occupies a building rich with local history and architectural significance. The venue opened its doors in its current incarnation in 2018, following an extensive refurbishment intended to preserve the historic features while transforming the space into a contemporary cultural hub.
EartH quickly established a reputation for its bold programming, which spans live music, DJ events, film screenings, talks, and community-focused workshops. Its main spaces include a 1,200-capacity hall with original wooden flooring, an intimate downstairs venue, and a restaurant/bar, allowing diverse audiences and events to coexist under one roof. Culturally, EartH is celebrated not only for its high-quality sound systems and striking design but also for its commitment to supporting both global and grassroots talent, as well as presenting genres that reflect London’s vibrant diversity.
Its inclusive ethos and forward-thinking approach have earned it critical acclaim within London’s nightlife and arts scene, filling a vital niche in Hackney’s creative landscape. The structure itself has seen significant changes over its lifetime—from a single-screen grand cinema to a split-level multiplex, then to periods of closure and disrepair before its rebirth as EartH—demonstrating the resilience and adaptability of urban cultural spaces amid shifting social and economic environments. Notable artists to have performed at EartH include international names such as Kano, Khruangbin, Jeff Mills, Shabaka Hutchings, Jorja Smith, Yasiin Bey (Mos Def), Nils Frahm, and Moses Sumney, as well as prominent local and UK acts like Little Simz, Fontaines D.
