Yukari

Yukari is a contemporary artist from Japan whose multidisciplinary practice spans painting, sculpture, and installation art. Drawing inspiration from both traditional Japanese aesthetics and modern urban culture, Yukari’s works are characterized by a blend of refined minimalism and playful, vibrant motifs. Growing up in Tokyo, she was deeply influenced by her grandmother’s calligraphy and the visual dynamism of city life, which continues to inform her explorations of line, color, and form.

Yukari studied fine arts at Musashino Art University, where she developed her signature style that merges elements of nature with abstract expressionism. Since her first solo exhibition in 2010, Yukari has exhibited widely across Asia, Europe, and North America, earning recognition for her ability to infuse everyday subjects with a sense of poetic wonder. Her recent projects focus on themes of impermanence, identity, and cultural memory, inviting viewers to reconsider their relationship with their surroundings.

Yukari currently lives and works in Kyoto, where she also teaches workshops encouraging young artists to bridge tradition and innovation in their creative practices.
