Yugo Sanchez is a multidisciplinary artist whose work bridges the realms of painting, installation, and new media. Born in Mexico City and based in Los Angeles, Sanchez draws upon his rich cultural heritage and experiences as an immigrant to examine themes of displacement, memory, and identity in the contemporary world. Trained at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and later at Otis College of Art and Design, Sanchez’s practice is characterized by vibrant color palettes, layered textures, and an experimental use of found materials.
His immersive installations invite viewers to navigate liminal spaces that challenge conventional narratives and foster cross-cultural dialogues. Sanchez has exhibited in solo and group shows across North America and Europe, with notable appearances at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and the Museo Tamayo in Mexico City. Actively engaged in community arts initiatives, Sanchez also mentors emerging artists and collaborates with local organizations to promote equitable access to the arts.
