Born Jacob Dilßner in Berlin, Germany, Wankelmut emerged as a prominent force in electronic music with his breakthrough remix of Asaf Avidan's "One Day / Reckoning Song" in 2012, which topped charts across Europe. Rooted in the vibrant Berlin scene, Wankelmut quickly became known for his distinct blend of house, deep house, and techno, earning acclaim for both his original productions and remixes. Over the years, he has delivered a string of successful singles, including "My Head Is a Jungle" featuring Australian singer Emma Louise, which became an international hit and solidified his reputation worldwide.

Wankelmut has collaborated with artists such as John Newman, Charlotte OC, and SVEA, while signing music to prestigious labels such as Get Physical, Defected, Ultra, and FFRR.
