Waajeed

Waajeed, born Robert O’Bryant IV, is a Detroit-based producer, DJ, and artist whose influence has been central to the evolution of modern soul, hip-hop, and electronic music. Emerging from Detroit’s rich musical heritage, Waajeed is a founding member of the trailblazing collective Slum Village and the visionary behind the genre-defying group Platinum Pied Pipers (PPP). With deep roots in the city’s underground, he is known for both his innovative approach to sampling and lush, forward-thinking productions that bridge the gaps between house, techno, jazz, and hip-hop.

Throughout his career, Waajeed has collaborated with iconic artists like J Dilla, Dwele, and Tiombe Lockhart, and his music has been released on labels such as Ubiquity, Mahogani Music, and his own Dirt Tech Reck label.
