Violet (PT)

Violet is a Lisbon-born DJ, producer, and label head who has been a driving force in Portugal’s electronic music scene. Active since the early 2010s, Violet has been celebrated for an eclectic approach that blurs the boundaries between house, techno, and breakbeat, always foregrounding the genres’ queer and political roots. She first gained international attention with releases on labels such as One Eyed Jacks, Love on the Rocks, and her celebrated 2019 album “Bed of Roses” on Dark Entries, which showcased her talent for combining rave energy with emotional depth.

As the co-founder of Rádio Quântica—a community radio station that champions underrepresented voices—and the label naive, Violet has created vital platforms for local and international artists, fostering a spirit of openness, inclusion, and innovation. She is a regular at prestigious clubs and festivals worldwide, from Berghain to Sustain-Release, known for dynamic sets that celebrate dance music’s rich history while pushing it forward. Off the dancefloor, Violet is recognized for her activism within the LGBTQIA+ community and her ongoing efforts to build safer, more accessible spaces in nightlife and beyond.
