Born in 1997 in Newcastle, Australia, DJ TOOTHTAXI (real name: Eden Foster) is a dynamic presence on the underground electronic scene. Blending a signature style of breakbeat, acid house, and leftfield techno, TOOTHTAXI’s sets are as memorable for their high-octane energy as for their deep cuts and unpredictable transitions. Foster began experimenting with music production and DJing at the age of 15, drawing inspiration from rave culture, UK bass music, and early experimental electronica.
TOOTHTAXI gained local attention through eclectic club residencies and their infectious energy behind the decks, quickly becoming sought after in warehouses and festival lineups along Australia’s east coast. In 2021, they released a genre-blurring debut EP, "Backseat Dentist," on the indie label Malachite Records; it garnered praise for its raw, playful sound and inventive use of field recordings. A passionate advocate for community spaces, TOOTHTAXI co-founded the DIY party series "Molars," known for its inclusive ethos and wild, tooth-themed visuals.
Their mixes have featured on NTS Radio and Triple J, and their live sets have supported acts such as object blue, Skin On Skin, and DJ Plead. Currently based between Melbourne and Berlin, TOOTHTAXI continues to produce, perform, and collaborate, pushing the boundaries of club sounds while bringing people together on the dance floor.
