Timur Basha

Timur Basha is a contemporary visual artist from Ukraine whose work explores the intersections of memory, identity, and the socio-political landscapes of Eastern Europe. Born in Kyiv in 1987, Basha grew up amidst the complex cultural shifts of post-Soviet Ukraine, which shaped much of his artistic vision. He studied fine arts at the National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture in Kyiv, where he developed a practice that spans painting, installation, and digital media.

Basha's work is characterized by expressive brushwork, layered imagery, and a keen attention to the narratives of ordinary people, often reflecting on themes of displacement, resilience, and hope in times of uncertainty. Over the past decade, his art has been exhibited in major galleries and institutions across Eastern Europe, including solo shows in Kyiv, Lviv, and Warsaw, as well as group exhibitions internationally.
