The Cyclist

The Cyclist, born Andrew Morrison, is a Northern Irish producer recognized for his distinctive blend of lo-fi house, experimental dance music, and lush soundscapes. Emerging from the vibrant Derry music scene, Morrison began releasing music in the early 2010s, quickly gathering attention with his homemade approach to recording—a style he describes as "tape throb." His acclaimed debut "Bones in Motion" (2013) on Leaving Records established him as a key innovator within the outsider house scene, drawing praise for his warm, analog textures and a raw, emotive atmosphere.

Across albums like "Flourish" (2017, Hypercolour) and "Sapa Inca Delirium" (2018, Hypercolour), The Cyclist developed a signature sound that fuses house, techno, psychedelic influences, and African rhythms with a penchant for nostalgic, sun-bleached melodies. His work oscillates between dancefloor energy and introspective listening, often rooted in organic samples and live instrumentation paired with swirling synths and dusty drum machines.
