Tanith, born Thomas Andrezak in 1962 in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, is widely recognized as one of the pioneering figures of the German techno and electronic music scene. Emerging from the early underground rave culture of Berlin, Tanith’s roots in music began with a deep passion for punk and electro, ultimately transitioning into the burgeoning acid house and techno movements of the late 1980s. He was a resident DJ at the iconic UFO club and Tresor, shaping Berlin’s nightlife at a time when the city was redefining itself after the fall of the Wall.

Renowned for his innovative mixing and boundary-pushing sets, Tanith became a driving force behind events such as Mayday and Love Parade, championing the evolution of techno from subculture to mainstream phenomenon. Over his career, he has released influential tracks, remixes, and DJ mixes, and remains lauded for his critical voice and authentic engagement with the electronic music community.
