Stasi Sanlin

Stasi Sanlin is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the intersections of memory, identity, and the passage of time. Born in Yangon, Myanmar, Sanlin’s early experiences navigating cultural transformation and displacement shaped a distinctive visual language that combines traditional techniques with contemporary mediums. Drawing on influences from Southeast Asian art, personal archives, and urban street culture, Sanlin creates paintings, installations, and digital works that evoke both nostalgia and radical possibility.

Their evocative use of color and layering often results in richly textured compositions that invite viewers to reflect on the resilience and fragility of collective histories. Since relocating to Berlin in 2015, Sanlin has exhibited widely across Europe and Asia, receiving recognition for their innovative approach and commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices.
