Skatebård

Skatebård, born Bård Aasen Lødemel in 1974, is a Norwegian DJ, producer, and label owner renowned for his eclectic approach to electronic music. Originating from the city of Ålesund and later establishing himself in Bergen, Skatebård first gained recognition as a member of the hip hop group Side Brok in the late 1990s, before embarking on a solo career in electronic music. Drawing from a wide range of influences including Italo disco, techno, electro, and house, Skatebård is celebrated for his melodic sensibility and his playful, genre-hopping productions.

His debut album "Skateboarding Was a Crime (In 1989)" appeared in 2002, marking the beginning of a prolific run of acclaimed releases on labels such as Sex Tags Mania, Digitalo Enterprises, Radius Records, and his own imprint, Digitalo Enterprises. Known for his energetic and often vinyl-based DJ sets, Skatebård has performed at clubs and festivals across the world, earning a dedicated following for his distinctive style and infectious enthusiasm behind the decks. Over the years, he has continued to challenge genre conventions with releases like "Cosmos" (2006), "Vill Stil" (2011), and "The Bells of Mist" (2019), each showcasing his evolving sound while remaining rooted in the underground electronic tradition.

A key figure in Norway’s dance music scene, Skatebård’s contributions have helped bridge Scandinavian sounds with international club culture, making him a respected and influential artist within the contemporary electronic landscape.
