Simon Baker is a contemporary artist from the United Kingdom whose multidisciplinary practice spans painting, sculpture, and installation. Born in 1982 in Manchester, Baker developed an early fascination with urban environments and the ways in which they shape human perception. He studied Fine Art at Central Saint Martins in London, where he began exploring the interplay between architecture, memory, and abstraction.
Drawing inspiration from the Brutalist movement, everyday objects, and the changing landscape of British cities, Baker’s works often juxtapose geometric forms with expressive surfaces, inviting viewers to reflect on the invisible narratives stitched into public spaces. Exhibited widely across the UK and internationally, his pieces have appeared in venues such as the Saatchi Gallery, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, and the Venice Biennale. Baker’s recent projects investigate issues of anonymity, collective memory, and the displacement inherent in contemporary urban life, earning him recognition as a significant voice among a new generation of British artists.
He currently lives and works in London, constantly seeking new ways to challenge the boundaries between form, space, and meaning.
