Session Victim

Session Victim is the German duo comprised of Hauke Freer and Matthias Reiling. Their partnership began in Hamburg’s house and techno scene in the mid-2000s, united by a shared record-nerd enthusiasm and broad musical tastes rooted in hip-hop, soul, funk, and jazz. Session Victim quickly developed a reputation for genre-blurring productions and dynamic, all-vinyl live/DJ sets that blend deep house, disco, broken beat, and beyond.

They debuted with a string of underground EPs for labels like Real Soon and Retreat, followed by their acclaimed 2012 album *The Haunted House of House* on Delusions of Grandeur, which cemented their place as genre-crossing tastemakers. Their subsequent albums, including *See You When You Get There* (2014) and *Listen To Your Heart* (2017), deepened their sound with elements of downtempo, boogie, and jazz, earning praise for emotional depth and musicianship. Session Victim are celebrated for their energetic, improvisational live shows, incorporating vinyl, samplers, and live instrumentation.

Their international appeal has seen them tour globally, playing esteemed clubs and festivals from Panorama Bar to Glastonbury. Alongside their extensive discography for Delusions of Grandeur, they’ve released on Toy Tonics, Pen & Paper, Rhythm Section International, and provided remixes for artists across the electronic spectrum.
