Selassie TBC is a multidisciplinary artist whose work draws deeply from notions of heritage, transformation, and futurism. Born in Accra, Ghana, and based between Accra and Berlin, Selassie’s creative practice spans painting, sculpture, digital art, and performance. His visually evocative pieces weave Akan folklore, diasporic memory, and contemporary social commentary, creating a striking interplay between past and future.
Influenced by the Afrofuturist movement and early African abstractionists, Selassie’s art is recognized for its vibrant color palettes, dynamic forms, and layered symbolism. He has exhibited in group and solo shows across Africa and Europe, including the Nubuke Foundation, Dakar Biennale, and Kunsthaus Bethanien. Selassie holds a degree in fine arts from KNUST and a master’s in digital media from the Berlin University of the Arts.
Alongside his studio practice, he is committed to arts education and regularly conducts community workshops to foster creativity among emerging young artists. Through his bold explorations of identity and possibility, Selassie TBC continually reimagines what it means to belong, dream, and create as part of a global African future.
