Sandwell District is a renowned techno collective hailing from Germany, recognized for its significant influence on the global electronic music landscape. Originally formed as a record label in the early 2000s by Regis (Karl O'Connor), Function (Dave Sumner), and Female (Peter Sutton), the collective quickly became synonymous with a raw, hypnotic, and experimental approach to techno. Though its core members come from the UK and the US, the group established a deep connection with the thriving underground scenes in Berlin, where Sandwell District refined their distinctive sound and cemented their reputation as innovators.
