Ruby

Ruby is an interdisciplinary artist whose work spans painting, sculpture, and installation art, exploring themes of memory, identity, and transformation. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Ruby developed an early fascination with the power of color and texture, shaping her distinctive visual language through both formal study and self-exploration. She earned her BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design and later completed her MFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she began experimenting with mixed media and found objects.

Ruby’s practice is deeply informed by personal narrative and collective histories, blending elements of Southern folklore, botanical motifs, and urban detritus to create immersive, contemplative environments. Her work has been exhibited nationally, with notable solo exhibitions in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, as well as group shows in museums and alternative spaces. Ruby has participated in international residencies in Mexico City and Berlin, and her pieces can be found in both private and public collections.

Through her art, Ruby invites viewers to experience the intimate interplay between fragility and resilience, offering meditations on the complex beauty of transformation and growth.
