Rentaro

Rentaro is a contemporary artist from Japan whose work explores the dynamic intersection of tradition and modernity. Born in Kyoto in 1988, Rentaro was influenced early on by the city’s centuries-old heritage of craftsmanship and its ever-evolving urban landscape. After studying fine arts at Tokyo University of the Arts, Rentaro developed a visual language that merges elements of Japanese calligraphy, textile patterns, and digital aesthetics.

His mixed-media installations and vibrant paintings frequently address themes of identity, memory, and impermanence, drawing from both Shinto philosophy and technological innovation. Rentaro has exhibited widely throughout Asia and Europe, garnering attention for his ability to evoke emotion through both subtlety and boldness. In addition to his gallery work, he often collaborates with fashion designers and digital artists, reflecting a commitment to cross-disciplinary experimentation.
