Rena Volvo

Rena Volvo is a contemporary multimedia artist whose work merges elements of sculpture, installation, and digital media to explore the relationships between technology, environment, and identity. Born in 1984 in Stockholm, Sweden, Volvo graduated from the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm before relocating to Berlin, where their practice grew to encompass large-scale public works and immersive audiovisual experiences. Drawing from their background in both industrial design and fine art, Rena creates pieces that juxtapose organic forms with industrial materials, often integrating motion sensors, recycled metals, and interactive components.

Their work has been exhibited in leading European museums and galleries, including the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, and has been featured in international art fairs such as Art Basel and the Venice Biennale. A recipient of numerous grants and fellowships, including the prestigious Swedish Arts Grants Committee award, Rena Volvo continues to challenge viewers to question the borderland between natural and manufactured realities.
