Rebecca Gough is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the intersection of memory, place, and identity through painting, textiles, and mixed media installations. Born in 1989 in Portland, Oregon, she developed an early fascination with the natural landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, which infuse much of her creative practice with organic textures and subdued palettes. Gough holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from the California College of the Arts.
Her work often investigates the emotional narratives embedded within domestic objects and personal artifacts, blending found materials and traditional techniques to craft immersive environments that invite introspection. Her exhibitions have been featured in galleries across the United States, including solo shows in San Francisco, Seattle, and New York, and her pieces are held in several private and public collections. Outside of her own studio practice, Gough is an active educator, conducting workshops on sustainable art-making and serving as a mentor to emerging artists.
She currently lives and works in Oakland, California.
