Plugin Ears is an experimental audio-visual artist collective from Ukraine, founded in 2017 by a group of multidisciplinary creators driven by a shared fascination with the intersection of electronic sound, immersive environments, and post-digital culture. Their work spans glitch music, live coding, and generative visuals, creating sensory experiences that challenge the boundaries between technology and emotion. Drawing inspiration from Kyiv’s vibrant underground scene as well as the broader legacy of Eastern European electronic pioneers, Plugin Ears is known for their performances at festivals such as NextSound and Ars Electronica, as well as collaborative installations in urban spaces.
Amidst the challenges brought on by recent years in Ukraine, the collective has turned to themes of resilience, displacement, and digital resistance, embedding field recordings, AI-generated textures, and fragmented video art into their productions. Plugin Ears continues to push the limits of sound and interactivity, seeking new ways to foster connection and innovation through both physical and virtual platforms.
