Plan T

Plan T is the collaborative moniker of artists Tanisha Cole and Thomas Rivera, whose work fuses street art, installation, and digital media to explore narratives of urban transformation and collective memory. Based in Oakland, California, Plan T emerged in 2017 from the duo’s shared desire to activate public spaces through visual storytelling rooted in community histories. Their large-scale murals, playful augmented reality projects, and participatory workshops blend bold color palettes, intricate patterning, and found objects, inviting audiences to contemplate themes of migration, resilience, and identity.

Plan T’s work has been exhibited at institutions such as the Museum of the African Diaspora in San Francisco and the Oakland Museum of California, and their public art interventions can be found enlivening city sidewalks, parks, and transit corridors throughout the Bay Area. Committed to social engagement, Plan T regularly collaborates with local youth organizations and educators, believing that art is most impactful when it is embedded within the everyday lives of the communities it represents.
