Picasso

Pablo Picasso, born on October 25, 1881, in Málaga, Spain, was one of the most influential and innovative artists of the 20th century. Trained initially by his father, an art teacher, Picasso demonstrated remarkable artistic talent from a very young age. Over his prolific career, he created more than 20,000 works in a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, drawing, ceramics, and printmaking.

Picasso’s early Blue and Rose periods revealed his expressive use of color and form, but it was his co-creation of Cubism alongside Georges Braque that truly revolutionized modern art, breaking down objects into abstracted, geometric components. Picasso's restless creativity led him to explore styles such as Surrealism, Neoclassicism, and Expressionism, and his iconic works, including "Les Demoiselles d’Avignon" and "Guernica," challenged social conventions and political norms. Known for his charisma and dramatic personal life, Picasso was also deeply engaged with the events of his time, often reflecting political turmoil and the complexities of human experience in his work.

He spent much of his later life in France, continuing to produce art until his death on April 8, 1973, leaving a legacy that profoundly shaped the course of modern art.
