Oren Ambarchi

Oren Ambarchi is an Australian musician, composer, and producer based in Melbourne, renowned for his exploratory approach to sound and his innovative interventions in the fields of experimental, electronic, and avant-garde music. Beginning his career as a drummer, Ambarchi shifted to guitar, developing an idiosyncratic style marked by extended techniques, unconventional tunings, and an emphasis on texture and resonance. Throughout his prolific career, Ambarchi has released a vast body of solo work on labels such as Touch, Drag City, PAN, and Editions Mego, earning international acclaim for albums like *Grapes From the Estate*, *Sagittarian Domain*, and *Simian Angel*.

His music often blurs the lines between minimalism, drone, and abstract rock, combining live instrumentation with subtle studio manipulations. Ambarchi is also highly regarded for his collaborative projects, having worked with artists including Jim O’Rourke, Keiji Haino, Stephen O’Malley (Sunn O))))), Merzbow, Keith Rowe, and Ricardo Villalobos, among others.
