Optimo (Espacio)

Optimo (Espacio) is a DJ duo consisting of JD Twitch (Keith McIvor) and JG Wilkes (Jonnie Wilkes), based in Glasgow, Scotland. Formed in 1997, they are renowned for their eclectic and boundary-pushing approach to DJing, seamlessly blending genres such as electronic, post-punk, disco, techno, reggae, and experimental music in their legendary sets. Their influential weekly Sunday club night, Optimo (Espacio), held at Glasgow’s Sub Club until 2010, became a hallmark of adventurous music selection and played a pivotal role in shaping the city’s vibrant club scene.

Beyond the club, Optimo earned international acclaim through their innovative mixes, remixes, and wide-ranging DJ sets at festivals and clubs worldwide. Their unique sound has been released via renowned labels such as Optimo Music (their own imprint), Warp, Domino, and DFA, and their remixes and productions have been commissioned by a diverse array of artists.
