Øntold is a multidisciplinary artist collective founded in 2018, based between Berlin and Copenhagen. Fusing contemporary visual arts, experimental sound design, and storytelling, Øntold is dedicated to exploring the intersection of digital technology and human experience. Their work weaves immersive installations, audiovisual performances, and interactive web-based projects, often interrogating ideas of memory, identity, and the boundaries between the physical and virtual.
The group’s distinctive aesthetic combines organic textures with algorithmic processes, resulting in work that feels at once hauntingly intimate and dynamically futuristic. Øntold’s projects have been exhibited at leading institutions and festivals across Europe, including transmediale, Ars Electronica, and the Copenhagen Contemporary, with their practice continually evolving in response to new technologies and sociocultural shifts. Collaborating with researchers, musicians, dancers, and technologists, Øntold aims to provoke dialogue and curiosity about the stories that shape us, both told and untold.
