Nico Borgio

Nico Borgio is a contemporary visual artist known for his evocative exploration of identity, memory, and urban landscapes. Born in Buenos Aires in 1986, Borgio’s artistic journey began in local street art collectives, where his fascination with texture and layered imagery took root. Drawing from influences as diverse as Latin American magical realism and European avant-garde movements, Borgio’s mixed-media works blend painting, collage, and digital manipulation.

His pieces often evoke a dreamlike intersection between the past and present, populated with fragmented figures and shadowy cityscapes that speak to themes of migration and cultural hybridity. Since his first solo exhibition in 2012, Borgio’s work has been showcased in galleries and museums across South America, Europe, and North America, earning praise for its emotional resonance and innovative use of materials. Living and working between Montevideo and Berlin, Borgio continues to experiment with new forms and mediums while collaborating with musicians, filmmakers, and fellow artists to create immersive multidisciplinary experiences.
