Neil Richter

Neil Richter is a contemporary artist from Germany whose multidisciplinary approach blends painting, sculpture, and new media to explore themes of identity, memory, and the interplay between urban environments and personal histories. Born in Berlin in 1981, Richter cultivated his artistic sensibilities amid the city’s vibrant post-reunification art scene, later studying fine art at the Universität der Künste Berlin. His work is characterized by bold textures, layered compositions, and an experimental use of materials, reflecting influences ranging from abstract expressionism to Berlin’s thriving street art culture.

Over the past decade, Richter’s exhibitions across Europe have garnered critical acclaim for their emotive depth and innovative techniques, earning him fellowships and several residencies, including a notable period at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien.
