Menal Batti

Menal Batti is a Swedish multidisciplinary artist whose practice weaves together painting, sculpture, and installation to investigate identity, migration, and the interplay of memory and place. Born in Gothenburg to parents of diverse cultural backgrounds, Batti’s work is marked by a vivid use of color and layered textures that evoke both personal and collective histories. After earning her MFA from Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, she quickly garnered attention for her evocative exhibitions across Scandinavia and Europe, where her pieces have been praised for their emotional depth and nuanced exploration of belonging and displacement.

Drawing inspiration from her own experiences navigating multiple cultural narratives, Batti often incorporates found objects, textiles, and archival materials, transforming them into visual dialogues that challenge viewers to confront assumptions about home and identity.
