Raised in the Bay Area, Matrixxman (Charles McCloud Duff) emerged from the underground rave and techno scenes, quickly garnering attention for his forward-thinking approach to electronic music production and DJing. Blending influences from Detroit techno, Chicago house, acid, and futuristic ambient sounds, he crafts sets and productions marked by hypnotic grooves and relentless energy. After moving to San Francisco, Matrixxman co-founded the label Soo Wavey and began releasing a string of acclaimed EPs, capturing the attention of major imprints such as Dekmantel, Ghostly International, and Delft.
His debut album, "Homesick" (Ghostly, 2015), received critical praise for marrying classic machine music with dystopian futurism. Known for his dynamic live and DJ performances, Matrixxman has performed at top clubs and festivals around the globe, including Berghain, Movement Detroit, and Dekmantel Festival. Equally respected as a producer, he has collaborated with and remixed artists ranging from Depeche Mode to Physical Therapy, and regularly provides analog synth programming and consulting for other techno producers.
Deeply interested in the possibilities of artificial intelligence and the evolving landscape of electronic music, Matrixxman continues to push boundaries with his output, remaining a significant figure in the contemporary techno movement.
