Marie Midori is a contemporary visual artist based in Germany, celebrated for her evocative explorations of memory, identity, and personal mythology. Born in 1987 in Berlin to a German- Japanese family, Midori’s cultural duality informs much of her multidisciplinary practice, which spans painting, installation, and new media. Her work investigates the sensorial nuances of everyday life, often weaving together fragments of childhood recollection, nature, and urban landscapes to create lush, dreamlike narratives.
Trained at the Universität der Künste Berlin, Midori has exhibited widely across Europe, earning critical acclaim for both solo and group exhibitions in Berlin, Hamburg, Amsterdam, and Vienna. Her work has been featured in prominent art fairs, including Art Basel and Documenta, and resides in private and public collections internationally. Drawing inspiration from both Eastern and Western aesthetic traditions, Marie Midori’s practice invites viewers into an introspective encounter with the fluid boundaries between the real and the imagined.
