Magna Pia

Magna Pia is the solo electronic music project of Arash Pandi, an Iranian-German composer, producer, and sound designer based in Berlin. Fascinated by the ancient roots of rhythm and melody, Magna Pia explores the intersection of contemporary techno and archaic musical influences, fusing ritualistic percussion, cinematic atmospheres, and hypnotic dancefloor energy. With a background in classical piano and composition, Arash—also known as one half of the acclaimed duo Cassegrain—brings a nuanced approach to sound design and storytelling.

Since launching Magna Pia in 2016, he has released music on respected labels such as Counterchange, Feral Note, and Figure, gaining recognition for both propulsive club tracks and more experimental, ambient excursions. Magna Pia’s music often draws inspiration from mythology, Sufi poetry, and ancient civilizations, resulting in immersive sonic worlds that resonate with both the mind and body. Committed to pushing the boundaries of techno, Arash has performed at leading clubs and festivals worldwide, while remaining dedicated to teaching and collaborative projects across genres and disciplines.
