MAGDALENA MAY

Magdalena May is a contemporary visual artist known for her evocative exploration of memory, identity, and transformation through mixed media. Born in Buenos Aires in 1987 and currently based in Berlin, May’s practice is deeply informed by her multicultural upbringing and extensive travels across South America and Europe. Her work often blurs the line between painting, sculpture, and installation, utilizing found objects, layered textures, and vibrant color palettes to construct immersive environments.

Magdalena’s pieces invite viewers into quiet, contemplative spaces where personal and collective histories converge. Since receiving her MFA from the Universität der Künste Berlin, her work has been exhibited in galleries and art fairs throughout Europe, the Americas, and Asia. She has participated in several international artist residencies, and her art is held in both private and public collections.

Through her evolving practice, Magdalena May continues to probe the complexities of belonging, displacement, and the resilience of the human spirit.
