Libra Esterlina

Libra Esterlina is a contemporary multidisciplinary artist whose dynamic practice encompasses painting, sculpture, and digital media. Known for blending bold colors with intricate symbolism, Libra explores the intersection of identity, transformation, and the tension between fragility and resilience. Born in 1990 and raised between Mexico City and Los Angeles, their bicultural background serves as a foundation for work that interrogates cultural hybridity and personal mythology.

Libra Esterlina’s pieces often feature recurring motifs—celestial bodies, botanical forms, and fragmented figures—arranged in layered compositions that invite viewers to reflect on the complexities of belonging. Since receiving their MFA from the California Institute of the Arts, Libra has participated in group and solo exhibitions in cities including New York, Berlin, and São Paulo, and their work has been featured in Artforum and Hyperallergic.
