Liam Cross

Liam Cross is a multidisciplinary artist whose diverse body of work spans painting, sculpture, and experimental sound installations. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 1991, Cross developed an early fascination with the intersection between the urban and the organic, drawing inspiration from coastal landscapes and industrial decay. After graduating with honors from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, he relocated to Montreal, where his practice evolved to incorporate recycled materials and found objects, reflecting his commitment to ecological themes.

Cross’s work explores memory, transience, and the resilience of nature, often juxtaposing vibrant pigments with weathered textures to evoke both fragility and persistence. His immersive installations have been featured in galleries across Canada and Europe, earning him critical acclaim and numerous residencies, including at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. As both artist and educator, Cross continues to challenge conventional boundaries, inviting audiences to reconsider their relationship with the environments they inhabit.
