Lethargy

Lethargy is an experimental music project formed in the late 2010s, known for weaving ethereal soundscapes that blur the boundaries between dream pop, ambient, and electronic noise. Emerging from a background steeped in the DIY ethos of underground music collectives, Lethargy first caught attention with self-released tapes that explored the soothing yet unnerving textures of insomnia and isolation. The project, helmed by multi-instrumentalist and producer Rowan Avery, grew from modest bedroom recordings to collaborations with visual artists and poets, creating immersive live experiences often described as visceral and transcendent.

Influenced by shoegaze, trip-hop, and the haunting minimalism of early electronica, Lethargy's work delves into themes of memory, digital fatigue, and the slow drift of urban life. Their debut LP, "Half Life Reverie," released in 2021, drew critical praise for its haunting vocals, intricate production, and delicate collision of organic and synthetic sounds. Lethargy continues to evolve with each release, steadily carving a niche in the contemporary avant-garde scene while remaining rooted in the emotional honesty and sonic curiosity that defines their output.
