Leon Hagen

Leon Hagen is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the intersections of memory, landscape, and human presence through painting, installation, and new media. Born in 1987 in Oslo, Norway, Hagen began cultivating an artistic sensibility at a young age, influenced both by the stark natural beauty of his homeland and the complexities of urban existence. After completing his academic studies in visual arts at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, Hagen embarked on a career marked by a thoughtful synthesis of abstract and representational forms.

His immersive installations have been exhibited throughout Scandinavia and Central Europe, including venues such as the Astrup Fearnley Museet in Oslo and Kunsthalle Wien in Vienna. Hagen’s practice is distinguished by a subtle use of color, layered textures, and an intuitive approach to material, which together evoke a sense of transient emotion and fleeting place. Drawing on lived experience, archival research, and collaborations with sound artists, Leon Hagen continues to expand the possibilities of contemporary art as a space for reflection, dialogue, and sensory encounter.
