Lauren Thompson

Lauren Thompson is a multidisciplinary artist whose creative practice explores the intersection of memory, landscape, and materiality. Raised in the Pacific Northwest, Thompson’s early experiences among lush forests and misty coastlines continue to inform her work, which frequently features organic motifs and natural textures. She holds an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts, where she developed her signature approach combining printmaking, sculpture, and installation.

Thompson’s evocative pieces have been exhibited nationally, including solo and group shows at institutions such as the Portland Art Museum, the San Francisco Center for the Book, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit. Her recent projects delve into the ways physical spaces carry emotional resonances, utilizing found objects, handmade papers, and subtle mark-making to evoke fading histories. Thompson currently lives and works in Seattle, where she maintains an active studio practice and teaches workshops on experimental printmaking techniques.
