Lando Riské is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans painting, textiles, and installation, often weaving together elements of abstraction, narrative, and material experimentation. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Riské developed an early fascination with color and texture influenced by the city’s rich history of design and industry. After receiving a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Riské moved to Brooklyn, where they have become deeply integrated into the local art community, exhibiting in group and solo shows across New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
Riské’s practice is characterized by a tactile approach, frequently incorporating found objects and hand-dyed fabrics, using process itself as a central means of expression. Through complex layers and unexpected juxtapositions, their work explores themes of memory, impermanence, and the boundaries between the natural and built environment. Dedicated to fostering dialogue and inclusivity, Riské regularly collaborates with other artists and community organizations, believing in art’s potential to create transformative spaces for reflection and connection.
