Kim Hunter is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the interplay between memory, identity, and environment. Born in 1982 in Portland, Oregon, Hunter developed an early interest in visual storytelling, drawing inspiration from the misty landscapes and vibrant culture of the Pacific Northwest. After earning a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Hunter spent several years traveling and working abroad, experiences that deeply influenced her layered approach to painting, collage, and installation.
Known for her evocative use of color, texture, and found materials, Hunter's work frequently examines themes of transformation and resilience, using both abstraction and figuration to invite viewers into intimate, contemplative spaces. Her art has been exhibited in galleries across the United States and internationally, earning critical acclaim and a dedicated following.
