KHAS is a multidisciplinary artist whose work navigates the boundaries between the seen and unseen, blending elements of abstract visual language with introspective narratives. Born in 1988 and currently based between Istanbul and Berlin, KHAS draws upon a diverse background in both fine arts and digital media to create paintings, installations, and immersive audiovisual experiences. The artist’s practice is rooted in the exploration of memory, belonging, and cultural hybridity, often referencing motifs from Anatolian folklore, contemporary urban life, and internet subcultures.
Since receiving an MFA from Marmara University, KHAS has exhibited internationally, with notable solo and group exhibitions in cities including London, New York, and Athens. Their works have appeared in prominent galleries such as SALT Galata and Kunstverein Tiergarten, as well as in curated digital platforms and festivals. Known for a process that interweaves analog and digital methods, KHAS employs layers of texture, color, and sound to evoke both personal and collective experiences.
Through their continually evolving practice, KHAS invites viewers to question the stability of identity and the ongoing negotiation between tradition and transformation.
