Ken Okuda is a contemporary multidisciplinary artist whose work spans painting, installation, and digital media, exploring the intersections of memory, identity, and urban transformation. Born in Tokyo in 1989 and currently based in Berlin, Okuda draws inspiration from his Japanese heritage and global experiences, infusing his art with a sense of cross-cultural hybridity. After earning his MFA from the Tokyo University of the Arts, Okuda exhibited in solo and group shows internationally, including in Berlin, New York, and Seoul, gaining recognition for his vivid, layered compositions and immersive installations.
His work often investigates themes of impermanence and collective nostalgia, employing found materials, coded visual symbols, and experimental techniques to evoke layered urban narratives. Okuda’s practice has garnered several awards and residencies, most notably at Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin, and his art continues to bridge boundaries between East and West, tradition and the contemporary.
