Karla Böhm is a contemporary visual artist based in Belgium, known for her evocative mixed media works that explore the intersections of identity, memory, and place. Born in Brussels in 1982, Böhm’s early exposure to both the vibrant street art scene and the city’s rich tradition of surrealism greatly influenced her approach to art-making. After earning her master's degree in Fine Arts from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, she began developing a highly personal visual language, often combining painting, collage, and photography.
Her work frequently delves into themes of displacement and belonging, reflecting both her Belgian heritage and her experiences traveling through Europe and North Africa. Böhm’s art has been exhibited widely in galleries across Belgium, France, and Germany, and her pieces are held in several prominent private collections. Engaged with the local art community, she regularly participates in artist residencies and collaborative projects, fostering dialogues around cultural identity and transformation.
