Jon Darc

Jon Darc is a contemporary multimedia artist whose work explores the intersection of memory, loss, and transformation. Born in 1987 in Chicago, Darc draws inspiration from the urban landscapes and subcultural movements that shaped their early years. Their practice spans painting, digital media, installation, and sound art, often layering text, found imagery, and tactile materials to evoke an atmosphere of haunting nostalgia.

Darc’s art is characterized by a raw immediacy and emotional resonance that invites viewers to engage with forgotten histories and intimate recollections. Since earning a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2011, Jon Darc has exhibited widely in the United States and Europe, earning recognition for both solo and collaborative projects. Their work has appeared in venues ranging from experimental project spaces to established art institutions, including the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and the Berlin Art Week.

In addition to exhibiting, Darc is an active participant in community-based art initiatives and frequently collaborates with poets, dancers, and musicians, reinforcing their belief in art as a catalyst for dialogue and collective healing.
