Jlin, born Jerrilynn Patton in 1987 in Gary, Indiana, is an influential American electronic music producer and composer celebrated for her innovative approach to rhythm and sound design. Emerging from the footwork scene in Chicago, Jlin quickly distinguished herself with her 2015 debut album "Dark Energy," which garnered global critical acclaim for its intricate percussion, avant-garde structure, and emotionally resonant intensity. Moving beyond the genre’s traditional boundaries, she has collaborated with artists and institutions such as Kronos Quartet, Wayne McGregor, and Third Coast Percussion, expanding her repertoire into contemporary classical and dance music.
