Jin Mustafa

Jin Mustafa is a Swedish-Kurdish artist born in 1988 who lives and works in Stockholm. Her multidisciplinary practice encompasses installation, video, sound, and sculpture, and often investigates the intersections of technology, power structures, migration, and sensory perception. Drawing upon personal and collective histories, Mustafa’s work seeks to unravel how intimacy is shaped by digital and infrastructural systems, as well as the impact of geopolitics on everyday experience.

She frequently collaborates with writers, theoreticians, and other artists, creating immersive environments that contemplate forms of storytelling, translation, and temporality. Mustafa has exhibited nationally and internationally, including at Malmö Konsthall, Moderna Museet in Stockholm, and Bonniers Konsthall, among others. Through her thoughtful and evocative works, she invites viewers to engage with nuanced narratives that reflect both the precarity and resilience of displaced communities.
