Jazzanova, a Berlin-based DJ and producer collective founded in 1995, stands out as one of the pioneering forces in the nu-jazz and electronic music scenes. Initiated by Alexander Barck, Claas Brieler, Axel Reinemer, Jürgen von Knoblauch, Stefan Leisering, and Roskow Kretschmann, Jazzanova rapidly drew attention with their innovative blend of jazz, soul, funk, and electronic beats, crafting a sound both timeless and forward-thinking. Emerging from the vibrant Berlin club scene, Jazzanova’s early influential releases, including remixes for Incognito, 4hero, and Koop, positioned them at the forefront of the international dance and jazz communities.
Their debut album, "In Between" (2002), showcased their intricate production style and genre-defying approach, garnering global acclaim. Throughout their discography, including albums "Of All the Things" (2008) and "The Pool" (2018), Jazzanova consistently explored diverse musical influences and live band collaborations. In addition to their recording and live performances, the members were instrumental in running the influential label Sonar Kollektiv, nurturing a variety of talent in the electronic and jazz crossover space.
Renowned for their eclectic DJ sets and live concerts, Jazzanova continue to influence contemporary music, blending electronic innovation with soulful, expressive musicianship.
