Jai Baisden

Jai Baisden is a multidisciplinary artist known for blending digital media, painting, and sculpture to explore themes of identity, memory, and the interplay between the organic and the technological. Born in 1992 and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Baisden developed an early appreciation for the natural world and a fascination with emerging technologies, influences that later became central to their artistic practice. After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design, Baisden embarked on a career that has taken them to exhibitions across the United States and internationally, including solo and group shows in New York, Berlin, and Tokyo.

Their work is recognized for its evocative use of color and texture, often layering intimate, hand-rendered details with algorithmically generated patterns and forms. Baisden’s installations invite viewers to consider the boundaries between the tactile and the virtual, challenging traditional notions of authorship and authenticity in the digital age. In addition to their studio practice, Baisden is an active participant in community arts education, leading workshops that encourage digital literacy and creative experimentation among young artists.
