Human Machines is an experimental electronic music and multimedia art duo formed in Berlin in 2017 by Sasha Weber and Rafael Ortiz. Drawing inspiration from early techno pioneers, glitch art, and cybernetic theory, Human Machines explore the intersection of human agency and technological automation through immersive audiovisual performances and sculptural installations. Their signature approach deconstructs club music into fragmented, rhythmically complex structures, often incorporating generative algorithms, custom-built hardware, and live-coded visuals.
Over the years, they have performed at international festivals including Unsound, CTM, and MUTEK, and their collaborative projects have been featured in galleries and digital art spaces across Europe and North America. Human Machines’ work interrogates the negotiation of control between the organic and the synthetic, inviting audiences to reflect on contemporary relationships with intelligence, data, and the body in an increasingly automated world.
