Hifi Sean

Hifi Sean is a British DJ, producer, and songwriter whose eclectic career spans over three decades, moving seamlessly between indie rock, electronic, house, and disco. Born Sean Dickson in Bellshill, Scotland, he first gained recognition in the late 1980s as the frontman of alternative dance band The Soup Dragons, achieving international success with hits like their cover of “I’m Free.” After The Soup Dragons, Sean formed The High Fidelity, further exploring his experimentation with psychedelic and electronic sounds.

Transitioning fully into the world of DJing and production, Hifi Sean established himself as a respected figure in the club scene, known for his deep, soulful, and often surprising sets. His debut solo album as Hifi Sean, 'Ft.,' released in 2016, stood out for its ambitious collaborative approach, featuring a wide-ranging roster of guest artists including Crystal Waters, Bootsy Collins, and Yoko Ono.

The album was widely acclaimed, with tracks like “Testify!” (featuring Crystal Waters) becoming dancefloor anthems and charting internationally. Hifi Sean’s distinct sound blends elements of house, disco, dub, and leftfield pop, underpinned by his knack for inventive production and heartfelt songwriting.

He is continuously in demand as a remixer, producer, and DJ, championing inclusivity and diversity within the music scene. In the 2020s, he formed the celebrated duo Hifi Sean & David McAlmont, further cementing his reputation as a genre-crossing innovator. Throughout his career, Hifi Sean has remained dedicated to pushing musical boundaries while fostering connection on dancefloors around the world.
